Çolakoğlu started its iron and steel business in 1945 with the steel business of our founder Mehmet Rüştü Çolakoğlu in Karaköy. Çolakoğlu commissioned its first rolling mill in 1960 in Sütlüce, again in Istanbul. The first meltshop started production in Dilovası in 1969 to meet the billet requirement in the country. Reinforcing its pioneering position in the sector by producing wire rods in the private sector in 1985, Çolakoğlu Metalurji added ribbed rebar to its product range as of 1990.
Çolakoğlu Metallurgy, which attaches importance to bringing the latest technology to our country with its investments, has shown its stability in this issue with the investments made in 2007 for the transition to steelworks and flat steel production. At the time of commissioning, Çolakoğlu Metalurji had the largest arc furnace in the world ever built. Çolakoğlu Metalurji, which also made the first hot sheet investment in the private sector, maintains its pioneering position in this field.
