Established as a mold workshop in 1948, when Plastikap moved to its location in Sefaköy, Istanbul in 1958, it produced plastic injection molds and parts for organizations such as Arçelik, Beko, Turkish Airlines and other companies in the newly developing household appliances sector. Plastikap moved to its new location in Gebze Plastikçiler Organized Industrial Zone in 2003.
When the first Turkish automotive factory was established in the 1960s, Plastikap became one of the first manufacturers to produce plastic technical parts for the automotive industry with molds designed and produced in its own mold workshop.
Plastikap many years producing plastic parts to the assembly lines of many automotive factory in Turkey. The Plastikap factory, which consists of departments such as a fully equipped mold workshop, plastic injection machines, mechanical presses, assembly lines, the quality control laboratory established under the management of Bureau Veritas in 1992, and raw material preparation, works with the rapid mold change system established in Gebze in 2003.
In 1977, a license agreement was signed between Plastikap and the French company Seima for the production of Renault 12 taillights. These products are still produced for Renault as spare parts for the Toros model. Vehicle lighting fixtures and other technical parts have been supplied to various manufacturers in the automotive sector such as Renault, Ford, Fiat, BMC, Otoyol, Otokar, Beldeyama for more than 30 years.
Products produced for automotive assembly lines; vehicle lamps (stop lamp, signal and license plate lamp, interior lighting, warning lamps) and vehicle interior / exterior parts (gear lever, armrest, hand grip, ventilation grilles and controls, mirrors, door and window openers, parts on the hood and trunk, etc. .) occurs. All of these molds are made in Plastikap\'s own mold workshop.
In addition to the automotive sector, Plastikap produces contract plastic parts and Pratika brand plastic furniture types for various sectors. These products, designed and produced in its own mold workshop, are exported to the USA and Europe. In Turkey, Migros, Metro, Bauhaus, is given to supermarkets such as Carrefour and Praktiker.

Used materials
A) Polymers
The most commonly used polymers are ABS, PMMA and PP. Various engineering plastics such as polycarbonate, polyacetal and polyamide are also used in the production of technical parts.

Special plastic steels, mechanical presses and various metal sheets such as stainless steel and phosphor bronze are used in the production of plastic injection molds.
