Akkar started its operations in 1985 with the manufacture of shotguns and automotive sub-industry parts.
It started to produce air rifles in 1989 and supported other rifle manufacturers in the sector with standard parts.
In 1992, the first pump-action shotgun manufacturing in Turkey, and in 1995 held its first gas manufacturing system semi-automatic rifles.
In 2005, it added overhead rifles to its product portfolio.
Breaking new ground again in 2012, it successfully designed and started to manufacture triple breaking rifles, which are the first in the world in their configuration.
In 2014, it expanded its break rifle portfolio with double rifles, adding the sub-numbers of superposition and triple breaker rifles. These products, bearing unique lines of Akkar, show Akkar\'s vast experience and capability in rifle design.
In its modern factory building with a closed area of 6800m2 in Istanbul - Tuzla, where it has been operating since 2003, there are metal processing, woodworking, heat treatment, chemical coating, camouflage coating, mold-apparatus design and manufacturing, assembly lines and shooting range.
All production stages, from design to the finished product, are carried out within Akkar and with Akkar quality. With its ISO 9001: 2008 quality management and TSE conformity certificates, it has adopted and implemented the principle of quality production as a company policy.
Continuously improving its production facilities with new investments, Akkar has an annual production capacity of 100,000 units. It exports 95% of its production to more than 50 countries around the world, mainly to the USA.
AKKAR has registered trademarks Churchill, Mammut, Altay, Karatay, Apache, Komanchi, Armstrong, Poseidon, Polaris, Orcap, M-2000, FAC 54, and Maxi-Mag in the shotgun category.
