Ataer Energy Electricity Generation Inc. It is a company established in accordance with the law numbered 3096, which enables the private sector to enter the energy business. Ataer Energy, which was established in July 1996, went into commercial operation in October 1998.

The aim of the company is to meet the energy needs of industrial partners who have factories and workplaces in İzmir Atatürk Organized Industrial Zone. Ataer Enerji has a fully paid-up capital of 5.5 million TL and an asset of 100 million USD. The company has an annual production capacity of 1.033.050.000 kWh and an annual turnover of 20 million USD. 96% of the company\'s shares belong to the IAOSB legal entity and the remaining part belongs to the industrialists of the region. The company is managed by a board of directors consisting of members elected from regional industrialists.

The power plant consists of 2 gas turbine generators with 49MW installed power and a steam turbine generator with 27MW installed power, air-cooled condenser and auxiliary facilities.

It started production in August 1998, using a gas turbine generator in the first stage. The facility, which was completed in about 11 months, cost 19 million USD with the power lines built in İAOSB.

The second stage investment started production in June 2001. Within the framework of this investment, a waste heat boiler, steam turbine, air-cooled condenser and auxiliary equipment were added. This project, financed entirely by foreign bank loans, cost 13 million USD including financing costs. The total cost is around 32 million USD.

The steam turbine generator is designed and installed at 27MW power, taking into account the steam capacity to be obtained from the waste heat of 2 49MW gas turbines.

The Phase 3 investment was put into program in 2008 and was completed in May 2010.

With the 3rd phase investment, a 2nd gas turbine, waste heat boiler and auxiliary systems of these units were added to the power plant and condenser and steam turbine updates were made.

With the completed 3rd Phase investment, the total capacity of the facility has increased to 125MW.
