About
Behind Baumit are two family groups, Schmid Industrieholding and the Wietersdorfer Group, in the field of building materials in Austria, with a tradition of 115 years in the past.
Traditional Structure of Baumit
In 1988, these two leading building material producers in Austria\'s own region signed a cooperation agreement under the Baumit brand to sell high quality branded products that are easy to apply.
From \"Building Materials Leader\" to Austria\'s Number 1
Located in Piestingtal, Lower Austria, the Wopfinger facility sells Baumit products throughout Eastern Austria (Vienna, Lower Austria, northern Burgenland region), while w & p, based in Wietersdorf and Peggau, operates in the south of Austria (Kärnten, True Tirol, Styria, southern Burgenland regions). Baumit Baustoffe GmbH, headquartered in Bad Ischl, was established in 1989 to carry out sales activities in the West Austria region, and W & P and Wopfinger each own 50% of this company. With the acquisition of the mines in the Steyr region, the Baumit Group started producing Baumit products in Western Austria in 1993, thus expanding all over Austria. Baumit today enjoys high recognition for builders and has become Austria\'s most famous building material brand. Thanks to its extensive product range, Baumit supplies products to almost any construction site. One of the two massive houses in Austria was built with Baumit products. This partnership, which these two pioneers in the field of building materials formed shoulder to shoulder, brought them to the 1st place in this field in Austria. Although they act together in the market, these two groups continue to exist independently on an institutional basis.
Baumit - A Success Story in My Globalization Period: 30 Countries in 20 Years
The driving force behind this excellent cooperation was the belief that both partner families carried from the beginning to move the Baumit brand outside the Austrian borders.
Since the collapse of the \"iron curtain\" and Austria\'s entry into the European Union, there is virtually no limit for Baumit. Parallel to the enlargement of the European Union, opportunities and opportunities for this have gained further momentum. Baumit currently has production or sales points in more than 28 countries of Central, Southern and Eastern Europe.
