BUGAMED Biotechnology R&D Software is a company that aims to develop high-tech products by carrying out scientific studies in the field of biotechnology and to meet the needs of people in the field of biotechnology with domestic, advanced technological products for people to have a quality life. It consists of an innovative, young and dynamic team with an original, multidisciplinary working principle that follows the worldwide studies and aims to be a pioneer in this field.
BUGAMED Biotechnology is a women\'s enterprise founded by Gamze Kara Mağden in 2017 in Eskişehir Technology Development Region with TÜBİTAK 1512-Techno-Entrepreneurship Capital Support Program and KOSGEB Entrepreneurship Support Program. It started its experimental studies in the field of biotechnology with its fully equipped laboratory infrastructure and started its activities to create innovative products.
The product we have developed in our company, our biomaterial, which is a new alternative developed for use in the treatment of chronic wounds, is a halal, natural tissue sourced, biocompatible, biodegradable, bioactive wound dressing that provides rapid healing in the treatment of wounds. It aims to develop biomaterials with high added value in our country by using tissue engineering methods and to increase the domestic product diversity in our country and to eliminate the dependence on imported biotechnological products by transforming the important raw material shortage in the sector into high technology raw materials within the scope of waste disposal. Research and development studies of the developed biomaterial have been developed with a multidisciplinary study team at Kocaeli University Clinical and Experimental Research Center, Diabetes and Obesity research unit.
Since the budgets allocated to the biotechnology sector in our country are less than those allocated to other sectors, our dependence on abroad is quite high in this field. When the developed countries around the world are examined, they attach importance to the biotechnology sector enough to compete with the budgets allocated to the defense industry. When we look at the distribution of R&D activities in this area in developed countries, the USA alone has undertaken 74% of it. When we examine the income distribution in the world, it is seen that there is a distribution between America and Europe, which produces advanced technology. In order for our country to have a say in the biotechnology sector, it is necessary to produce advanced technology products and the biotechnology sector should be followed by biopolitics, keeping it separate from other sector budgets.
