In 1980 Genper Group started its first operation under the name Genper Expanded Perlite Industry Trade Co. Ltd in Istanbul. Expanded perlite products manufactured in this facility are mainly used as filter aids in the food industry and also for various purposes in the other sectors such as cryogenic, construction, textile and agriculture. Since the company establishment, it has grown consistently to become the leading manufacturer of perlite both in terms of production capacity and quality also Genper dedicates itself to the promotion of perlite across the country and enabling the same to attain the value it deserved. The company has protected the sources of the country and ensured cost saving to its customers by encouraging the use of perlite instead of the replacement products imported from abroad. Although Genper was founded as a small company it has achieved continuous development growing significantly. In the meantime as a result of successful results from R&D studies, perlite products has recently started to be used in a lot of new sectors hence it has gained more importance over the years. In 2006 the company established its second largest perlite expansion factory, Genper Mining Industry Trade Co. Ltd , in Kutahya in order to meet the increased demands. The most important investment of Genper Group was the starting to operate one of the largest crushing and screening plant in Kutahya where the company has an expansion plant, thus the company has entered into the mining business extracting the perlite ore from the licensed deposits which are 27 km far away from the processing plant. Having over 30 years with expanded perlite the company has achieved great success in the perlite ore business offering high quality products at fair prices, as a result Genper has become a world - class supplier. In 2013, the Group launched its 3rd perlite expansion facility, Ore Perlite Industry Trade Co. Ltd , in Antalya. This facility was established for supplying expanded perlite especially to the agricultural sector. The new subsidiary company GPM Foreign Industry Trade Co. Ltd joined Genper Group in 2014.
