The foundations of the Roman brand were laid by Turgut Toplusoy in 1980. Working in the construction sector for the first time, Toplusoy entered the textile sector with the encouragement of his friend and opened his first store under the name \"Roman\" in Nişantaşı Rumeli Caddesi. Getting to know the dynamics of the sector in a short time, Toplusoy previously offered the products of many different brands to its customers. Seeing that the future potential is in the textile sector, Toplusoy rented a workshop in Şişli Osmanbey, the textile center of the period, where he could make his own production. In this period, brand collections were created by selecting products from fashion magazines and removing patterns.

Determining what the customer wants, Toplusoy caught the bar for success in a short time with the clothes it produced. Especially, Roman branded coats and coats attracted the attention of Istanbulites. With the increasing sales day by day, Roman\'s second store was opened in Suadiye in 1984.

Promotions in fashion, style and women\'s magazines increased the brand\'s awareness day by day. With the rapid rise of the Roma brand, demands began to come from wholesalers in Anatolia. Strengthening its production system to meet this demand, the Roman brand has become a national brand that sends products to many wholesalers in Anatolia in the 1990s.

After the 1990s, the store process gained momentum. With the transition to a free economy, multinational brands Turkey entered the market, increased competition in the sector. In order to keep up with this competitive environment, Roman created the \'Gipsy\' brand in 1990, which produces mostly products for young people and meets the consumers in Roman stores, with more affordable prices.

After 1990, emphasis was placed on development in retail. Shopping Centers in Turkey\'s most important customers Novel concept stores were opened specially designed to be comfortable and cozy shop.

In 2003, Suzan Toplusoy became the Roman Design Coordinator. With the vision of becoming an international brand that influences world fashion, the design staff has been strengthened.

In 2005, in order to respond faster to the increasing customer demands, the Roman brand was moved to the Roman Headquarters in Çekmeköy, which is 4000m2, by strengthening its teams.

After 2006, there was a transition from retailing to retail management.

In 2010, within the scope of social responsibility, Roman prepared the Organik by Roman collection, which is produced entirely from organic fabrics, adhering to organic production conditions.

Roman consciousness style come together, in addition to a limited number of these special collections produced in 2011. Australia \'s organic cosmetics brand VCR Organic\' i also bringing Turkey to their clients rather than a fad, it showed that lifestyle has to offer.

Today, 44 stores in 20 provinces in Turkey and abroad with 5 dealers and Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Cyprus, Russia and Bahrain Roman 19 point serving customers with sales, and employs 1050 people.
