In 1968, SOMÇELİK entered the equipment sector as a dealer of a company producing steel bolted warehouse shelves in Kayseri and as an individual enterprise, and started manufacturing from dealership to manufacturer since 1978.
Our company, which has been producing steel bolted warehouse shelves since 1978, has shifted its production mainly to the market and store equipment segment with the development of the retail sector in the early 1990s.
In the 1990s, it moved its 500-square-meter production area to its existing 5,000-square-meter facility in the Organized Industrial Zone in the 1990s.
Somçelik, which started its new investments at the end of 2006, carried out the commissioning of a new production area of 23,000 square meters in the Organized Industrial Zone of 15,000 square meters at the end of August 2011.
With this new facility; It will continue its activities using the latest technology with galvanized and nickel coating, electrostatic powder coating facility, metal and wood production line, additional machines, and as such, the current area is used for wire product manufacturing and the new facility is used for metal and wood product manufacturing.
SOMÇELİK SHELF INDUSTRY and TRADE LIMITED COMPANY; In two separate production areas; With its production facilities, knowledge and experience, more than 150 qualified human resources and modern production methods, 20.000 m2 closed, in total 30.000 m2, to offer the most suitable product in terms of product quality and cost to its customers in 23 different countries. It continues its activities with determination and diligence.
With the new structuring process, growth in sales (therefore in production) is targeted and as a result, the number of required technology investments and 3 regional directorates is increased to 7 and dealerships are created in each province, Marketing and Sales, Production, Design and R&D services are in progress.
Somçelik exports to 23 different countries (from Balkan Countries, Arab Countries, Middle East Countries, Far East Countries, Turkic Republics, Russia and European Countries). Somçelik, realizing nearly 20 percent of its sales as exports by the end of 2010, aims to increase this rate to a minimum of 25 percent in the first place.
