During the development process of Technology Park activities that started within TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center, two regions with different legal statuses were established with the titles Technology Free Zone (TEKSEB) and Technology Development Zone (TEKGEB). TUBITAK Marmara Technopolis is the only Technopark owned.
25.73 hectares of TÜBİTAK Marmara Technopolis, which has a total area of 62 hectares, is \"Technology Development Zone\" (TEKGEB), 36.27 hectares are reserved as Technology Free Zone (TEKSEB).
TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) was authorized to establish and operate the zone, and the establishment and operating agreement regarding the subject was concluded between Marmara Research Center (MAM) and the Republic of Turkey Prime Ministry Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade on 27.01.2000.
It was deemed appropriate to establish an operating company with the status of \"Joint Stock Company\" in order to operate and manage the region in accordance with its purpose and to provide the necessary support and services to the companies operating in the region and the employees of the region, and accordingly, \"Marmara Teknokent A.Ş.\" legal personality has been established.
Studies are carried out to provide the best environment for their activities in order to turn a technological invention into a commercial product, method or service where companies using high / advanced technology or for new technologies produce / develop technology or software.
